An anti-nausea and anti-vomiting medication used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or surgery. It works by blocking the action of serotonin in the body.

- Typical dose: 8 mg, usually taken 1 to 2 times daily.
- If used for chemotherapy: Often taken 1–2 hours before treatment, and then sometimes every 12 hours for 1–2 days after.
- If used after surgery: Usually a single dose before or after the procedure.
