An oral rehydration solution (ORS) designed to restore fluids and electrolytes lost due to diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or excessive sweating. It helps prevent and treat mild to moderate dehydration, particularly in children and adults.
Indications:
- Prevention and treatment of dehydration caused by:
- Acute diarrhea.
- Vomiting.
- Fever.
- Excessive sweating (e.g., due to heat or exercise).
- Rehydration during mild to moderate fluid loss.
- Supportive therapy in conditions with increased fluid requirements.
Main Active Ingredients:
- Citric acid.
- Potassium citrate.
- Sodium chloride.
- Dextrose.
- Flavoring agents.
Precautions:
- Do not use in cases of severe dehydration without medical supervision (IV fluids may be required).
- Contraindicated in patients with:
- Intestinal obstruction or ileus.
- Persistent vomiting preventing oral intake.
- Use with caution in patients with:
- Renal impairment.
- Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (due to glucose content).
- Not a substitute for normal diet or breast milk in infants.
- Consult a physician before use in infants under 1 year of age.
