A topical immune response modifier used for the treatment of certain skin conditions by stimulating the body’s natural defenses.
Indications:
- Actinic keratosis (precancerous skin lesions caused by sun exposure).
- External genital and perianal warts (condyloma acuminata).
- Superficial basal cell carcinoma in some patients.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Imiquimod 5%
Precautions:
- For external use only, avoid contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes.
- Do not apply on broken or severely inflamed skin.
- Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided during treatment.
- Use under medical supervision, especially for children and elderly patients.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly prescribed.
Side Effects:
- Redness, itching, or irritation at the application site.
- Burning or stinging sensation.
- Dryness, flaking, or swelling of treated skin.
- Headache, flu-like symptoms in rare cases.

- May increase irritation when used with other topical treatments.
