A delayed-release oral wafer designed to deliver mesalazine directly to the colon, reducing inflammation in ulcerative colitis while minimizing systemic absorption.
Indications:
- Management of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis flares.
- Maintenance therapy to help prevent relapse in ulcerative colitis.
- Treatment of crohn's disease.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Mesalazine (each tablet 400 mg).
Precautions:
- Not for use in case of known sulfa or mesalazine allergy.
- Caution in patients with kidney or liver disease, and those with blood disorders.
- Regular monitoring of blood counts, renal and hepatic function advisable.
- Notify your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
- Store in original packaging at room temperature, away from moisture and children.
Side Effects:
- Most commonly: nausea, headache, abdominal discomfort.
- Possible local irritation or mild allergic reactions.
Drug–Drug Interactions:
- Warfarin and other anticoagulants.
- NSAIDs.
- Azathioprine or 6-mercaptopurine.

- Swallow whole with water, do not crush or chew.
- Continue full treatment course even if symptoms improve.
- If you miss a dose, take as soon as you remember unless it's nearly time for the next dose; avoid doubling.
