This medication is a combination medication that contains two active ingredients: glyburide and metformin hydrochloride. Each tablet of Glucovance 500mg/5mg includes 500 mg of metformin and 5 mg of glyburide. This formulation is specifically designed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, particularly when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycemic control.
