A lipid-lowering medication belonging to the statin class, used to reduce cholesterol levels by inhibiting cholesterol synthesis in the liver.

Indications:
- Treatment of hypercholesterolemia.
- Reduction of elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
- Increase of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
- Prevention of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients.

Main Active Ingredient:
- Rosuvastatin 20 mg.

Precautions:
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any excipient.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of muscle disorders or unexplained muscle pain.
- Use with caution in patients who consume large amounts of alcohol.
- Caution is advised in elderly patients and those of Asian origin.
- Regular monitoring of liver enzymes and lipid levels is recommended.

Side Effects:
- Headache.
- Abdominal pain.
- Constipation.
- Nausea.
- Muscle pain or weakness.
- Dizziness.
- Skin rash or itching.
- Increased protein levels in urine are usually transient.

Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Ciclosporin.
- Warfarin and other anticoagulants such as clopidogrel.
- Fibrates and other lipid-lowering agents, including ezetimibe.
- Antacids are used to neutralize gastric acid.
- Macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin.
- Fusidic acid.
- Oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy.
- Certain antiviral medications for HIV or hepatitis C.
- Anticancer agents such as regorafenib and darolutamide.

- Follow the dosage prescribed by the physician.
- Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food.
- The usual recommended dose for cardiovascular risk reduction is 20 mg once daily.
- Dosage adjustments should be made at intervals of at least 4 weeks under medical supervision.
