A medication used to relieve muscle and joint pain works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation.
Indications:
- Relief of pain from muscle and joint injuries such as sprains, strains, bruises, and sports injuries.
- Back pain.
- Tendinitis (e.g., tennis elbow).
- Relieve pain caused by osteoarthritis affecting joints such as the knees, hips, and hands.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Diclofenac Sodium.
Precautions:
- Use only on healthy, unbroken skin.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice, especially in the first trimester.
- Avoid use in children and adolescents under 16 years without medical supervision.
- Discontinue use if a rash or allergic reaction occurs.
- Consult your doctor before use if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, or a history of stomach ulcers.
- Store below 25°C in the original carton to protect from moisture.
- Use within 3 months of opening the sachet.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Local skin reactions such as irritation, redness, burning, itching, rash, or swelling.
- Rare systemic NSAID-related effects such as stomach upset or breathing difficulties.
Drug–Drug Interactions:
- Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin).
- Diabetes medications.
- Diuretics.
- Lithium, methotrexate, ciclosporin, tacrolimus.
- Certain antibiotics (e.g., quinolones, trimethoprim).
- Other NSAIDs or COX-2 inhibitors.
- Cardiac glycosides (e.g., digoxin).

- Voriconazole, phenytoin.
- Colestipol, cholestyramine.
