- First, make sure to wash and thoroughly dry your hands. Insert the OneTouch Strips 50 into your meter.
- When the screen displays 'Apply Blood,' you can place your blood sample on either side of the test strip at the channel opening.
- Apply the sample right after a drop of blood forms.
- Slightly tilt the meter and position the channel over the blood drop.
- Once the blood contacts the sample, it will be drawn into the channel, which should fill up. The channel will change to red, and the meter will begin a countdown from 5 to 1.
- Wait for 5 seconds for the meter to calculate your blood glucose level.
- Finally, check the digital display on your meter for your reading.
