Oxygen saturation indicates the percentage of hemoglobin bound to oxygen in arterial blood.
Saturation is measured with a pulse oximeter or oximeter or oximeter, a hand-held instrument that is painlessly applied to a finger.
We report the indicative values for the interpretation of the data detected by the pulse oximeter, these values must always be discussed with your doctor.
95% – 99%: normal values (in the elderly it is also normal values below 93%)
90% – 94%: mild hypoxia values (if it persists, consult your doctor)
