Lozenges to be dissolved slowly in the mouth to soothe irritated throat tissues and temporarily suppress coughrespiratory irritation.
Indications:
- Temporary relief of sore throat and throat irritation.
- Temporary suppression of mild cough.
- Soothing of irritated oral and pharyngeal tissues.
- Relief of nasal congestion.
Main Active Ingredients:
- Glycyrrhiza glabra (Liquorice root).
- Zingiber officinale (Ginger).
- Phyllanthus emblica (Indian gooseberry).
- Menthol.
Precautions:
- Do not use if allergic to benzocaine, menthol, or other “caine” anesthetics (e.g., procaine) without medical advice.
- Contains sugar; use with caution in patients with diabetes or restricted sugar diets.
- Not recommended for children under 2 years of age without medical supervision.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Change in taste perception.
- Increased tartar (calculus) on teeth with prolonged use.
- Rare allergic reactions such as oral irritation or rash.
Drug–Drug Interactions:
- No specific systemic drug interactions are established for typical use; however, inform your healthcare provider of all medicines being taken.
- Adults and children over 6 years: Dissolve 1 lozenge in the mouth every 2 hours as needed to relieve symptoms.
- Children 5–12 years: Dissolve ½ to 1 lozenge twice daily after meals.
- Do not chew or swallow lozenges whole.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is near time for the next dose; do not take a double dose.
