A long-acting basal insulin analog used to help control high blood sugar in adults and children with diabetes mellitus, providing up to 24-hour glucose-lowering effect.
Indications:
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus in adults and children (≥2 years).
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when oral antidiabetic agents are insufficient.
- Can be used alone or in combination with rapid-acting insulins or oral hypoglycemics.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Insulin detemir (recombinant DNA origin) 100 IU/mL.
Precautions:
- Monitor blood glucose regularly to avoid hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
- Dose adjustment may be needed during illness, stress, or changes in physical activity or diet.
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
- Avoid alcohol consumption as it may enhance or reduce the hypoglycemic effect.
- Not to be shared between patients (risk of infection).
- Ensure proper storage: refrigerate before first use, then keep at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 6 weeks after opening.

Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Oral antidiabetic drugs, ACE inhibitors, sulfonamides, salicylates, fibrates, SSRIs, alcohol.
- Corticosteroids, oral contraceptives, thyroid hormones, diuretics, sympathomimetics.
- Beta-blockers.
