A medication used to treat high blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing excess fluid, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow.
Indications:
- Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
Main Active Ingredients:
- Olmesartan Medoxomil: 40 mg.
- Amlodipine (as Besilate): 5 mg.
- Hydrochlorothiazide: 12.5 mg.
Precautions:
- Do not use if allergic to olmesartan, amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the inactive ingredients listed below.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, heart disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Discuss all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Side Effects:
- High potassium levels (symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, or muscle weakness).
- Dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting.
- Headache.
- Blurred vision.
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain.
- Fatigue, flushing, or flu-like symptoms.
- Swelling of the face, hands, feet, or ankles.
- Sore throat or difficulty swallowing.
- Back pain.
- Sleep disturbances or depression.
- Cough, runny or blocked nose, or sneezing.
- Skin rashes or eczema.
- Urinary tract infection.
- Skin rash or itchiness.
- Muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness.
- Fast heartbeat.
- Shortness of breath or chest tightness.
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Jaundice.
Drug-Drug Interactions:
- Potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, NSAIDs, lithium, or alcohol.
- Other antihypertensive agents, diuretics, or beta-blockers.
- Electrolyte Imbalance: Corticosteroids, amphotericin B, or stimulant laxatives.
