A topical antibiotic cream used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected eczema, and infected wounds. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, helping to stop the growth of infection-causing organisms.
Indications:
- Impetigo (superficial bacterial skin infection).
- Infected eczema or dermatitis.
- Infected wounds, cuts, or abrasions.
- Folliculitis (infected hair follicles).
- Minor skin infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and other susceptible bacteria.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Fusidic Acid 2% w/w.
Precautions:
- For external use only; avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
- Do not apply on large areas of skin or under occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician.
- Use with caution in individuals with known hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or any excipients.
- Not recommended for viral or fungal skin infections.
Possible Side Effects:
- Local skin irritation (redness, itching, burning, or stinging).
- Rash or eczema-like reaction.
- Allergic skin reactions (rare).
