An injectable solution used to support the maintenance of pregnancy. Prolutex contains progesterone, a natural female hormone essential for maintaining pregnancy.
Indications:
- Stabilizes the endometrium to support and confirm early pregnancy.
- Used in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF.
- Luteal phase support as part of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment in infertile women.
- As an add-on therapy with estrogen for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women with an intact uterus.
Main Active Ingredient:
- Progesterone 25 mg per injection.
Precautions:
- Do not use if allergic to progesterone or any excipients.
- Not to be used in cases of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in women with missed miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
- Avoid in severe liver dysfunction or active liver disease.
- Use with caution in patients with epilepsy, migraines, asthma, diabetes, or a history of depression.

Drug-Drug Interactions:

- May interact with antibiotics such as rifampicin or rifabutin.
- May interact with antifungal medicines.
- May interact with HIV protease inhibitors.
- St. John’s Wort may reduce effectiveness.
