A cream used to treat skin infections caused by the herpes simplex virus by inhibiting viral DNA polymerase, thereby preventing viral replication and speeding up the healing of sores.

Indications:
- Initial and recurrent genital herpes.
- Herpes labialis (cold sores).
- Herpes simplex virus infections of the skin.

Main Active Ingredient:
- Aciclovir 5%.

Precautions:
- Avoid use in patients with hypersensitivity to aciclovir, valacyclovir, or any component of the formulation.
- Do not apply inside the mouth, nose, or eyes.

Side Effects:
- Mild burning or stinging after application.
- Redness, itching, or mild drying/flaking of the skin.
- Skin rashes, hives, or swelling of lips, face, or eyelids (rare allergic reaction).

Drug-Drug Interactions:
- No significant drug interactions reported with topical use.

- Apply to the affected area five times daily at approximately four-hour intervals, omitting the nighttime dose.
- Both adults and children can use the same regimen as directed by a physician.
